Message 2 – 8:34 p.m.
Dear William & Mary community,
Due to the inclement weather, the university’s Williamsburg campus will delay opening until 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. Campus will be closed until that time. Check the university events and Athletics websites for updated schedules, but there will be no events until 10 a.m.
Snow removal crews will be addressing major pathways and the largest parking lots first. To ensure the safety of all, access to buildings will be restricted in the morning as Facilities Management employees complete this work. If you see an area of particular concern, please report it to facilities management at workor@wm.edu
- Students can access dining hall schedules at dining.wm.edu
- Non-essential employees should not be in their offices, or on campus, earlier than 10 a.m. Teleworking is not required during the period of delay.
- Essential employees should consult with their supervisors and may be required to report to campus.
- As a reminder, if you have concerns about getting to campus safely please contact your supervisor regarding telework or the use of liberal leave.
- Members of the William & Mary Law School community can expect separate communication from administrators at the law school.
As a reminder, faculty and staff should keep their contact information updated in Workday and students in Banner.
Please stay safe and continue to take the necessary inclement weather precautions.

Message 1 – 1:16 p.m.
Dear William & Mary community,
Snow and freezing rain are expected to begin early tomorrow morning. Williamsburg is not currently under the National Weather Service’s Winter Weather Advisory, but nearby areas are included. No changes to university operations are anticipated, and classes will continue on their normal schedule for Friday, Dec. 5. Facilities Management is preparing pathways with ice melt. Please consult the university events calendar and Athletics schedule for details on individual events.
We recognize that employees commute to Williamsburg from various areas across our region. If you have concerns about getting to campus safely please contact your supervisor regarding telework or the use of liberal leave. Essential employees should consult with their supervisors and may be required to report to campus.
EMT will continue to monitor the weather forecast. Please stay safe and take necessary precautions during this inclement weather.
