The following message was sent to the campus community from the EMT Oct. 3, 2023 – Ed.
Dear William & Mary Community –
Due to a fault detected in the system, Dominion Power is initiating an emergency shutdown of power to many of William & Mary’s buildings at 5 and 11 p.m. today, Oct. 3.
Dominion is correcting the issue, and each shutdown is expected to last about 30 minutes. During these times, please use caution as you move about and avoid using elevators.
The buildings expected to be affected include: Boswell Hall, the Muscarelle Museum of Art, Phi Beta Kappa Hall, Andrews Hall, Ewell Hall, the Wren Building, President’s House, Brafferton, Tucker Hall, Tyler Hall, James Blair, Blow Hall, the Cohen Career Center, the Laycock Football Center, Zable Stadium, Sadler Center, Campus Recreation, Busch Field, Kaplan Arena and the Commons.
They also include the following residence halls:
Lemon, Hardy, Chandler, Landrum, McGlothlin Street, Barrett, Jefferson, Washington, Monroe Hall, Old Dominion, the Bryan complex, Green and Gold, the Botetourt Complex, Fraternity Housing and Dupont.
