Dear William & Mary community –
William & Mary will test the university’s emergency notification system (TribeAlert) on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 12:15 p.m., including activation of the university’s nine sirens and their public address function.
The university tests its emergency notification system at the beginning of each semester and once during the summer.
IMPORTANT: Ensure your information is current
• Students – Review Emergency Notification tab (ensuring Yes has been selected in the Text Alerts field)
• Faculty and staff – Go to View Profile. In the left column, select Contact. Click Edit in the Contact section. Under Phone, click the pencil icon to update your mobile number and set it as Primary. Click Submit.
If you hear the emergency sirens outside of a test, check immediately for additional information and instructions at W&M Alerts.

• William & Mary delivers emergency communications through Rave Mobile Safety, and its email messages come from wm@email.getrave.com Add this address to your contacts to aid timely delivery.
• Notifications may also appear on WMNews social media channels (WMNews Facebook and WMNews X), visual display takeovers, the W&M Mobile app, and the Rave Guardian app.
• The goal is to reach every member of our community through at least one channel. All channels are not intended to reach everyone simultaneously.
