The following message was sent to the campus community by Vice President for Student Affairs Ginger Ambler – Ed.
Dear William & Mary Community,
It is with deep sadness that I write to inform you of the death of one of our students. We learned this morning that Rachel M. Morgan died unexpectedly on Wednesday from a sudden illness. Rachel was enrolled in the Mason School of Business’ online MS in Marketing program and was expected to complete her degree in May, 2022.
A resident of Chesapeake, VA, Rachel became a registered nurse in 2013 through Sentara College of Health Sciences and later graduated from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication/Speech-Language Pathology. After six years serving as General Manager of Norfolk Seafood Company and Big Easy Oyster Bar, Rachel began freelance work in graphic design and copywriting. Through Rachel Morgan Designs she focused on designing new brands and improving existing brands in the restaurant industry. As a community volunteer, she donated her marketing and design skills to benefit children with significant medical needs. Rachel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent c/o the Dean of Students Office for delivery to Rachel’s family. Her death reminds us of how close we are to one another at William & Mary. What affects one of us affects us all. I know you join me in extending deepest sympathies to Rachel’s family, colleagues and friends.
Sincerely,
Ginger Ambler
