Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger has appointed John Rathbone P ’02, P ’05 to William & Mary’s Board of Visitors, the governor’s office announced March 18. The appointment is pending confirmation by the Virginia General Assembly.
Rathbone, a retired Norfolk Southern executive, will fill an unexpired term of Eric Cantor J.D. ’88, LL.D. ’11. The term runs through 2029. Rathbone previously served on the Board of Visitors from 2021 to 2025. He has also served as a trustee of the William & Mary Foundation Board. -Ed
