Dear William & Mary community,
The university’s Williamsburg campus will open Wednesday, January 8. Employees should report to work as normally scheduled.
We recognize that employees commute to Williamsburg from various areas across our region, if you have concerns about getting to campus safely please contact your supervisor.
Thanks to the excellent work of the Facilities Management Team, the campus is accessible and ready for operation.

W&M Offices Closed Mon. at 7 p.m. & Tuesday

Dear William & Mary community,
Due to freezing temperatures and additional snow expected tonight from Winter Storm Blair, the university’s Williamsburg campus will close at 7 p.m. Monday, January 6 and will resume normal operations on Wednesday, January 8. All athletic and university events will be cancelled Jan. 7.
Essential employees should consult with their supervisors and may be required to report to campus.
Non-essential employees should not be in their offices or on campus on Tuesday as Facilities Management employees address snow, ice and other potential hazards caused by the storm. To ensure safety access to buildings will be restricted. Per university policy, teleworking is not required during the closure.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and let you know if there will be any other changes to W&M’s regular operating schedule.
Please stay safe and continue to take necessary precautions during this inclement weather. Your well-being remains our top priority

Dear William & Mary community,
Due to winter weather that is expected to bring snow and ice to the area, the university’s Williamsburg campus will delay opening until noon on Monday, Jan. 6.
Essential employees should consult with their supervisors and may be required to report to campus.
Non-essential employees should not be in their offices or on campus earlier than noon, and teleworking is not required during the period of delay. Please reach out to your supervisor regarding telework or the use of leave beginning in the afternoon tomorrow. To ensure the safety of all, access to buildings will be restricted in the morning as Facilities Management employees address snow, ice and other potential hazards caused by the storm.
We will continue to monitor the weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon, Monday evening and Tuesday morning and let you know if there may be other changes to W&M’s regular operating schedule.

Winter weather

The Emergency Management Team is monitoring the winter weather system that is expected to bring a mix of snow, sleet and rain to the area tonight and tomorrow. A determination about the university’s operational status for Monday will be communicated shortly after the late-afternoon National Weather Service briefing today. You will receive a second EMT message by 5:00 p.m., if not sooner.
